Day-to-day trailer tyres withstand a great deal: road conditions, load weights, and temperatures, all of which are constantly changing, causing pressure differences that ultimately lead to tyre wear. Maintaining optimal tyre pressure is a significant contribution to road safety. It also helps to prevent unnecessary expenditures caused by worn tyres or roadside prohibitions for under-inflated tyres.

 Why would you wait for DfT to make it compulsory?

Maintaining tyre pressure at the optimum value is a major contributor to road safety. The BPW AirSave system will continuously monitor tyre pressure while driving, automatically adjusting to the correct level and inflating at a tyre pressure deviation of just 0.2 bar. Should the pressure deviate considerably, a continuous warning light will alert the driver, prompting travel to a service station for assistance.

How does it work?

• AirSave uses the trailer's existing pneumatics to direct the air through the axle beam to the wheel end and to the tyre valve.

• The vehicle's tyre pressure is constantly monitored and automatically adjusted to the desired level. 

  >>  If a violet light is not visible, this indicates to the driver that the tyre pressure is at the correct level and no action is needed.
  >>  If a violet light is visible and flashing, this indicates to the driver that the system is active and the correct tyre pressure is being maintained.
  >>  If a violet light is visible and constant, this indicates to the driver that a drop in tyre pressure has been detected, and the vehicle MUST be stopped when safe to do so.
