BPW win Trailer Innovation Prize 2017 at the IAA for their Tyre pressure control system, AirSave.

The ground-breaking tyre pressure control system scooped the components category award at a ceremony held at the IAA Commercial Vehicles fair in Hannover, on 23 September 2016.

The innovative AirSave system automatically corrects and maintains pressure in trailer tyres. In the event of a pressure loss, this wheel-end solution automatically triggers a correction to the defined set pressure in every tyre whilst compensating for fluctuating temperatures. The system also alerts the driver via an LED to indicate permanent pressure loss or tyre damage, enabling the driver or repair shop to localise the defect quickly. This is a great benefit to drivers, as correctly inflated tyres are not only a UK legal requirement to avoid penalties but vital for safe handling and optimum braking.

In AirSave, BPW has successfully integrated the benefits of both tyre pressure sensing and control. For fleet operators the advantages lie in genuine gains in efficiency and safety because AirSave reduces tyre wear, fuel consumption and emissions. The system does not require any maintenance, or hamper tyre changes, because the compressor that supplies the automatic pressure adjustments, does not need to be dismantled.

The award of this prestigious prize serves as further evidence of BPW Group's development skills and credentials as a company committed to bringing innovation to the trailer market.
