BPW TPMS: THE SMART SOLUTION FOR OPTIMAL TYRE PRESSURE.

BPW idem telematics Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) offers insight into tyre pressure, providing a clearer view of trailer performance. TPMS delivers a comprehensive solution not only for tyre pressure monitoring, but also for improving safety, extending tyre life, and saving fuel.

Tyre pressure and temperature is recorded simultaneously with rim-mounted sensors, which transmit tyre pressure data to a receiving unit, with an accuracy of up to +/- 0.3 bar. With the capability to support up to 36 sensors, they can be integrated into all commonly available wheel sizes, benefiting from a life expectancy of up to seven years. For applications that only require tyre pressure monitoring, valve-mounted sensors are also available as an alternative solution.

Developed by BPW Group member idem telematics, the Cargofleet telematics portal provides real-time performance reports. Accessible through a Driver App or Cargofleet, transport operators can monitor and check a vehicle’s tyre pressure and temperature from anywhere, at any time. However, we understand that sometimes being presented with too much information can become overwhelming. To ensure only relevant information is reported, an operator can filter data and control how often reports are generated.

The TPMS features proactive alarm notifications for critical tyre conditions. An alarm is triggered if tyre pressure drops +/- 0.2 bar or more below the target for at least 20 minutes, or if tyre temperature exceeds the target by 20°C for 10 minutes. To prevent false alerts, the system’s time offset feature ensures alarms are only sent when conditions remain unchanged. Alarms are reported via e-mail and include detailed data such as date, time stamp, and vehicle location, providing enhanced safety and monitoring.

With continuous monitoring, both drivers and fleet managers can ensure optimal safety and performance, helping to prevent blowouts and other tyre-related issues before they occur, or identify potential failures well before regular maintenance checks.
