In February 2010 BPW Limited went through a major change as it began to assemble suspension systems at the company’s UK headquarters in Leicester.

Twelve months on and BPW has seen the 10,000th axle roll off the UK assembly line, a number that has surpassed the initial projected build by over 25%. This is indeed testament to the skills of the UK manufacturing team who were able to quickly adapt new processes and improve workflow to support and improve the continued growth of BPW Limited.

“The new facility has enabled us to respond more quickly to our customers’ changing requirements, whilst at the same time keeping our stock of finished axle assemblies to a minimum”, said Richard Gibbs, BPW Limited’s Managing Director.

More than half a million pounds was spent on the specialist installation and assembly equipment at the BPW Leicester plant enabling assembly of both drum brake and the latest ECO Disc brake axles.

In Europe BPW is the leading axle and suspension manufacturer for trailers and semi trailers, so it’s no surprise to find that BPW is also the UK market leader in the medium and heavy­ duty axle field. The success of BPW equipment in the UK is, in part, due to the running gear’s features which provide operators with a high performance, low maintenance component that ultimately offers them a long term cost effective solution. It is for these reasons that many UK blue chip companies continue to specify BPW running gear for their fleets.
