The John Lewis Partnership has taken delivery of 25 tandem axle trailers, built by Gray & Adams, for their Waitrose stores. The trailers, with Carrier–Transicold fridges, have been fitted with low maintenance BPW running gear with a specially designed air suspension system to help minimize dock movement.

John Lewis has been fitting BPW equipment since 2005 and it is now the standard specification. Ray Collington, John Lewis Fleet Engineer recently commented that changing to BPW has proved to be a very positive move and has provided them with significant savings on maintenance, downtime and parts.

All 25 trailers, now in operation, will be closely followed by 12 single axle trailers for urban deliveries.
