Independent Air suspension

Until now, certain types of vehicle have been neglected when it comes to improved driveability and driving comfort.

However, BPW has changed this situation by developing an independent suspension system - state of the art running gear for box trailers and other special trailer types.Full air suspension is combined with disc brakes and uses swinging and lateral link arms to ensure absolutely parallel vertical wheel movement.

The new multi trailing arm unit is the first independent suspension system for special vehicles with one hundred per cent air suspension.

Two airbags and a telescopic shock absorber make up the wheel's spring system improving trailer stability as well as reducing airbag and tyre wear.

Another advantage is that so-called "dock walking" is eliminated. This refers to the movement away from a loading dock which can take place during loading/unloading operations.
