BPW's purpose built headquarters include offices, training room, workshop and warehouse. The 36,000 sq ft warehouse holds stock of up to 800 axles, as well as a comprehensive supply of spare parts. Spare parts are distributed to BPW's network of approved parts distributors and service agents which are strategically located throughout the UK and Ireland.

THE HISTORY OF BPW:

The origin of the company Bergische Patentachsenfabrik Wiehl - BPW - can be traced back to 1784 when the steel and iron mill in Wiehl started to produce axles for agricultural use. Bergische Achsenfabrik was formed in 1898 and by developing axles and using roller bearings had become , within 30 years , the European market leader - a position still held today.With expertise stretching back over 100 years and with over 400 patents issued, the company manufactures running gear for heavy goods applications, agricultural vehicles and machinery, car and light trailers industrial machinery and plant and complete caravan chassis assemblies.

The present annual axle production totals 250,000 across a range of 450 different types. Employees at its Wiehl headquarters, including the two nearby production facilities, total 1800. BPW has 12 production sites worldwide.
